Rakuga is a real-time multiplayer drawing and guessing game available as a mobile app and on the web. This Privacy Policy applies to the Rakuga app, website, game rooms, support pages, and related content. By using Rakuga, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Rakuga is designed to collect only the information needed to run the game and improve the experience. Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• The nickname and avatar you choose for gameplay.
• Drawings, guesses, room activity, and other content you create during a game session.
• An anonymous installation or browser identifier stored in secure app storage or localStorage to support continuity, abuse prevention, and measurement.
• Usage telemetry, such as app opens, completed matches, sharing, notification state, maintenance checks, room events, device type, app version, browser type, locale, time zone, and basic performance information.
• Messages you send to us by email, including your email address and the content of your request.

Rakuga does not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as government IDs, payment card numbers, precise health information, race or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or biometric identifiers.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate the game, display rooms, process guesses, keep score, prevent abuse, understand performance, respond to support messages, improve the site, and maintain safety for players. We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how Rakuga is used.

App Storage, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

The mobile app stores an anonymous installation reference, nickname preference, language, XP, streak, notification state, and limited cached configuration on your device. The website may use cookies, localStorage, and similar browser technologies for equivalent continuity and measurement. Local streak reminders are scheduled by the device; Rakuga does not currently use remote push tokens.

Advertising

The Rakuga mobile app may display advertisements through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device identifiers (such as the mobile Advertising ID or, on iOS, the IDFA), approximate location derived from your IP address, advertising interaction data, and diagnostic information. On iOS, the Advertising ID is only used for tracking if you allow it through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. In the European Economic Area and other regions with consent requirements, a consent form is shown before personalized ads are served, and you can decline. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

You can limit or reset the mobile Advertising ID at any time in your device settings (on iOS under Privacy & Security > Tracking, on Android under Privacy > Ads).

The Rakuga website may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to serve and measure ads on the website based on a user's prior visits to Rakuga or other websites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting google.com/settings/ads. You can also learn about broader interest-based advertising choices at aboutads.info. Disabling personalized ads does not necessarily remove ads; it may make ads less relevant.

Analytics

The mobile app uses a dedicated PostHog project with manual events, autocapture disabled, session replay disabled, and personal profiles disabled. Approximate location (country level) is derived from the IP address at ingestion for aggregate analytics. The anonymous installation reference is used as the analytics identifier. We do not send nicknames, room codes, chat or guess text, secret words, or drawings to PostHog. The website may use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, page performance, and general usage.

How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers who help operate hosting, analytics, security, and advertising. These providers process information according to their roles and policies. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or reorganization.

Public Gameplay Content

Rakuga is a multiplayer game. Nicknames, avatars, guesses, chat-like game messages, and drawings may be visible to other players in the same room. Do not submit information or drawings that you want to keep private. Private rooms limit access by link, but they are not a secure storage space for confidential content.

Data Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including operating the game, measuring performance, preventing abuse, complying with legal obligations, and resolving disputes. Browser localStorage remains on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it.

GDPR Rights for Users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have rights under the GDPR or similar privacy laws. These may include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability where applicable. You may also have the right to withdraw consent when processing is based on consent.

CCPA and California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and related laws, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing or sale of personal information. Rakuga does not sell personal information for money. Advertising and analytics cookies may be considered sharing under some privacy laws. You can manage personalized advertising through the opt-out links above and by changing your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

Rakuga is intended for general audiences and casual play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent is required by law. If you believe a child provided personal information to Rakuga, contact us so we can review the request.

Your Choices and Deletion

You can delete the mobile app to remove normal local app storage, clear browser cookies and localStorage, disable notifications in device settings, and use browser privacy controls. To request deletion of server or analytics data associated with your anonymous installation or gameplay, follow the instructions at rakuga.io/delete.html.
